Plastic Recycling Basket Project

The association launched an innovative project aimed at reducing agricultural and non-agricultural plastic waste in the Jordan Valley. The project focuses on collecting plastic from farms, streets, and public areas, and delivering it to recycling factories in Deir Alla. This initiative creates direct and indirect job opportunities for women and youth, improves family income, protects the environment, and helps reduce carbon emissions.

Community Partnerships with Hotels and NGOs

As part of the recycling project, the association signed partnership agreements with several hotels in the Dead Sea area to collect plastic waste, along with cooperation from other local associations to supply the collected materials. These partnerships strengthened the association’s capacity to reach more beneficiaries and ensured the project’s sustainability.

Participation in the Opening of the Recycling Factory in Deir Alla

The Cooperative Charity Association participated in the inauguration of a recycling factory in Deir Alla, attended by the Minister of Interior. During the event, the association presented a summary of its activities in the fields of environmental sustainability and women’s empowerment, highlighting its role as a key contributor to community development.

Training and Awareness Programs for Women

The association organized training workshops for women in the region, teaching them how to handle plastic waste and reuse it effectively. Additionally, marketing and awareness campaigns were launched to educate the local community on the importance of recycling and its alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Leading Experiences in Women Empowerment

Ms. Kawthar Al-Adwan, Chairperson of the association, shared her experience in empowering women in the Jordan Valley through productive projects such as handicrafts and organic farming.

Community Activities and Local Meetings

The association organized local meetings and activities in South Shouneh District in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and local institutions. These events addressed economic challenges and explored ways to empower women and youth through small-scale projects.
